epa03072860 A woman holds a Klubradio banner as thousands of people demonstrate in support of the Hungarian independent radio station 'Klubradio' in downtown Budapest, Hungary, 22 January 2012. The twelve-year long period of the usage of the frequency used by Klubradio, a mouthpiece of oppositional opinions, had expired so the media authority invited bidders for a tender last year and the bid submitted by owners of Klubradio did not win, so it must stop broadcasting its progammes in the first half of February 2012. Protestors say the media authority made a political decision by judging the bids in order to silence this oppositional radio and doing so it violates the right ot free speech and threatens media freedom.
