At the beginning of August, Karolina Slowinska took over as CEO of Iron Mountain Poland. This is a strategic change for the company, signalling a shift towards intensifying digital services.
Slowińska, who has been with the organisation for 13 years, moves from global structures, where, as Head of Global Sales Operations in the Digital Business Unit (DBU), she was responsible for sales operations in the company’s fastest-growing segment.
Her appointment is a clear signal that the Polish branch is to place a stronger bet on digital transformation, moving away from the image of a company focused mainly on physical archiving. Slominska’s experience in DBU’s global division, which focuses on solutions such as intelligent document processing and process automation, is crucial in the context of current trends in the Polish market.
The introduction of the mandatory use of e-Grants and the increasing pressure for digitalisation in the financial and public sectors create ideal conditions for expansion for providers of digital information management services.
With a background in law and economics, including a PhD in legal studies and an MBA, Slowinska brings a unique combination of skills to her new role. She knows the business inside out, having started out as a lawyer, which gives her an in-depth understanding of the regulatory and risk management aspects – key in the data management industry.
Her previous position at DBU indicates proficiency in scaling digital solution sales and building go-to-market strategies for innovative products.
She takes over the reins from Marcin Drzewiecki, who has managed the company since the end of 2021 and focused on dynamic growth and financial targets within the Northern Europe cluster.
The appointment of an in-house manager, experienced in global digital structures, suggests that Iron Mountain wants to use the potential of the Polish market not only to maintain growth, but above all to strategically change the service mix.
The priority now is likely to be to offer more aggressively the advanced automation and data management solutions that Slowinski has been developing at a global level.
