Samsung has unveiled three foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Flip8. The manufacturer has also reorganised its product range. The Fold8 Ultra is the successor to last year’s Fold7, whilst the standard Fold8 features a new, slimmer and significantly wider design. The launch is complemented by the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 smartwatches.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra builds on the existing formula without any revolutionary changes. It features an 8-inch internal screen, a 6.5-inch external display and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. Versions with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage will be available. The key upgrades include a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and 20 W wireless charging. The phone does not support the S Pen.
A more interesting new release is the Galaxy Z Fold8. When folded, it measures 123.9 mm in height and 81.9 mm in width, and weighs 201 g. It combines a 5.5-inch external screen with a 7.6-inch main display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. This format should work well for watching films, reading and using several apps at once. However, the wide body may take some getting used to.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 features an Exynos 2600 processor and a slimmer body. It still offers a 50 MP main camera, a 4,300 mAh battery and 25 W wired charging. The changes compared to its predecessor are therefore mainly evolutionary in nature.
Prices start at 5,699 zł for the Flip8, 8,749 zł for the Fold8 and 9,599 zł for the Fold8 Ultra. The most expensive Ultra variant, with 1 TB of storage, costs 12,199 zł. The pre-order period does not include the ‘double storage’ promotion seen in previous years. Instead, Samsung is offering a trade-in scheme, six months’ access to Google AI Pro, and up to 500 zł off the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 when purchased alongside the smartphone. Pre-orders will run until 6 August 2026.
