In early June, Katowice will become the centre of the European debate on the future of artificial intelligence. On 3 June, the Silesian Museum will host the #CEEAIChallenger Fest 2025 – a prestigious festival that will bring together leaders in technology, business, science and government. The event, organised by the Digital Poland Association and the Silesian Inter-University Cyber Science Centre, is a response to the growing need for cross-sectoral cooperation in the development of responsible and innovative artificial intelligence.

Representatives of global technology companies, public administration and the scientific community will speak at the conference. Representatives of the Ministry of Digitalisation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, NASK and experts from the business and legal environment, as well as leading academic centres, among others, have announced their participation. Topics at the event will focus on AI development strategies, its impact on society and the labour market, digital security, legal regulations and opportunities for regional economic development using artificial intelligence. Demonstrations are also planned, including the Alexa voice system or Polish film productions using AI.

– Artificial intelligence is becoming the foundation of a modern economy. We must jointly create such conditions to develop it responsibly and effectively, using Poland’s huge potentialboth technological and intellectualemphasises Michał Kanownik, President of the Digital Poland Association. Poland has all the assets to become a regional leader in AI: a dynamic IT sector, world-class specialists, a strong academic base and an increasingly aware state. However, we need to act quickly and coherently – combining the forces of administration, business and science. The CEE AI Challenger Fest is our answer to this challenge – a platform to create concrete solutions and strategies for the Polish market. We want Poland to be the birthplace of breakthrough technologies and standards for the use of AI, which will shape the future not only of our country, but of the entire region,” he adds.

– Our mission is to integrate experts from various fields around a common vision of AI as a tool for economic and social development. Katowice is a natural place for such discussions, as it is here that industrial tradition intersects with modern technologies, adds Dariusz Szostek, Ph.D., professor at the University of Silesia, who heads the Cyber Science consortium.
