Asseco Poland is acquiring a 96 per cent stake in Mc Comp, thereby gaining access to the market for software for petrol stations, hotels and leisure facilities – segments in which digitalisation is increasingly extending beyond individual systems to encompass the entire customer service and sales process.

Mc Comp has been in operation for over 30 years and develops, amongst other things, systems for petrol stations, hotels and sports and leisure facilities. According to the company’s data, its solutions are used by over 3,200 facilities, including more than 2,700 petrol stations.

For Asseco, this marks an entry into a relatively specialised segment of the IT market, albeit one with a large pool of potential customers. In Poland, there were around 7,900 petrol stations in operation at the end of 2025. At the same time, POPiHN points out that fuel sales are growing much more slowly than catering and non-fuel sales.

This is also changing the role of technology. Petrol stations are increasingly combining fuel sales with catering, retail outlets, loyalty schemes, mobile payments and electric vehicle charging. For example, by the end of 2025, Orlen already offered catering services at 1,924 stations across Poland.

The acquisition fits in with Asseco’s growth model, which is based on acquiring companies with their own software and sector-specific expertise. In 2025, 13 companies joined the group, with total revenue amounting to PLN 16.8 billion.

However, the greatest potential of the transaction may lie outside Poland. Asseco operates in over 60 countries, which is why Mc Comp’s specialist products can be scaled up in markets where the group already has customers and sales structures. At the same time, the success of this strategy will depend on whether the solutions developed for the Polish market can be effectively adapted to foreign operators and local regulations.
