As part of the ActiveProtect family of solutions, the DP5200 offers up to 36 TB of raw capacity in a compact 1U chassis and a full suite of enterprise-class features available in ActiveProtect Manager (APM), including:
Extensive support for various platforms
The DP5200 model provides protection for a wide range of IT environments. This includes virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V), physical infrastructure (Windows and Linux servers, Windows and macOS computers), SaaS applications (Microsoft 365), databases (Oracle and Microsoft SQL) and file servers (support for SMB, NetApp and Nutanix systems).
In the planned APM 2.0* update, support will be extended to include further workloads, such as Azure VMs, Amazon EC2, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox VE and Google Workspace.
Centralised management at scale
The DP5200 model can operate as a standalone backup server, protecting all workloads within a single site, or act as a central management server. In the latter scenario, it enables the consolidation of up to 120,000 workloads and the monitoring of 1,000 servers across multiple sites from a single, centralised management interface.
AI-powered active protection
The DP5200 model enhances security by combining access control based on multi-factor authentication (MFA) with an architecture reinforced by AI mechanisms. The solution supports the implementation of the 3-2-1-1-0 data protection strategy through the use of write-once, read-many (WORM) copies, a logical air gap and version-based tiering.
In the upcoming APM 2.0 release, the system will transition from a passive data recovery model to active protection. Using AI and machine learning (ML) technologies, it will detect anomalies during the backup process and scan data for the presence of malware, helping to ensure that future recovery processes are free from threats.
