Komputronik ended the first quarter of the 2026/2027 financial year with a net loss of PLN 3.13 million, compared with a loss of PLN 1.88 million a year earlier. Revenue fell by 1.6 per cent to PLN 391.5 million, whilst operating profit turned from a profit of PLN 1.1 million into a loss of PLN 0.55 million. At the same time, gross profit on sales rose by 3.6 per cent to PLN 52.2 million. The group’s EBITDA amounted to PLN 3.7 million.
One of the main challenges facing the industry at present is the surge in memory prices. According to TrendForce, contract prices for conventional DRAM rose by approximately 93–98 per cent quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter, with a further increase of 58–63 per cent forecast for the second quarter. In the case of NAND Flash, an increase of 70–75 per cent was expected. The reasons include, amongst others, growing demand from data centres and AI infrastructure, which is limiting the supply of components for consumer devices.
The pressure is evident across the entire market. IDC reported that global PC shipments fell by 4.9 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter. At the same time, Polish consumer spending does not look weak: in June, real retail sales rose by 6.2 per cent year-on-year. This suggests that Komputronik’s problems are largely sector-specific and cost-related, rather than purely macroeconomic.
For the company, this means there is a risk of further pressure on sales volumes if higher hardware prices prompt customers to postpone purchases. A strategy focused on the profitability of individual transactions may, however, protect margins, albeit at the expense of faster revenue growth. An additional constraint remains the implementation of the arrangement with creditors. At the end of June, liabilities covered by the arrangement amounted to approximately PLN 48.1 million.
