Hewlett Packard Enterprise is betting on the development of data services and storage infrastructure, entrusting the leadership of this area to Maciej Bocian, a manager with more than 20 years of experience in the data centre and digital transformation industry. His joining HPE’s Polish office signals not only a strengthening of the local strategy, but also the growing importance of data in the group’s offering.

Bocian has spent years building competence at companies such as VAST Data, Pure Storage, NetApp and Bull, and before that at Cisco and IBM, where he was in charge of IT architecture and enterprise sales. He managed teams in the Polish market and in the CEE region, focusing on scaling the business and introducing new data-driven service models.

Interestingly, his career has come full circle – as the man himself points out, he started almost 30 years ago as an intern at what was then Hewlett-Packard. His return to HPE comes at a time when the infrastructure market is undergoing an accelerated change driven by artificial intelligence and the growing need for real-time computing.

For HPE, it is also a step towards strengthening its position in the data services segment – an area that is increasingly defined not by ‘capacity’ but by its ability to support AI, automation and operational resilience. Globally, the company is investing in the HPE GreenLake platform and all-flash solutions, targeting customers upgrading data centres and building their own AI models.
