The growing demand for computing power for artificial intelligence is making data centres one of the most important segments of the technology market. Schneider Electric and the Taiwanese conglomerate Hon Hai Technology Group, better known as Foxconn, are responding to this trend by announcing a strategic partnership to develop infrastructure for next-generation data centres.
The collaboration aims to combine the expertise of both companies. Foxconn will contribute its experience in AI server manufacturing, systems integration and the global supply chain, whilst Schneider Electric will be responsible for technologies related to power supply, cooling and energy management. The aim is to create ready-to-deploy, modular solutions that will enable the faster construction and commissioning of infrastructure for AI workloads.
Production of the jointly developed systems is set to begin later this year. The companies also announce work on standard architectures for AI data centres, optimisation of energy consumption, and solutions to facilitate infrastructure scaling.
The partnership is part of a broader trend observed in the market. With the development of generative AI, data centre operators are facing increasing demands regarding energy availability, efficient cooling and deployment speed. Suppliers who can offer integrated solutions covering both computing hardware and energy infrastructure are therefore playing an increasingly important role.
