The private equity fund MidEuropa is to acquire a platform comprising the companies ÚRS, First Information Systems and Callida from the DEK Group. Their systems support cost estimation, budgeting, project management and the maintenance of digital construction logs in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The transaction is scheduled to close in the second half of 2026. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
The investment is part of the accelerating digitalisation of the Czech construction sector. From 1 January 2027, BIM is to become mandatory for large public procurement contracts worth more than 135 million Czech koruna. The new regulations will increase demand for tools to organise data, costs and the progress of projects.
The timing of the transaction is also favourable from an economic perspective. In May 2026, construction output in the Czech Republic rose by 4.4 per cent year-on-year, the number of planning permissions issued increased by 11.6 per cent, and the number of housing starts rose by 48.3 per cent. At the same time, Czech GDP grew by 2.2 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter.
The platform’s most important asset may turn out to be not the software itself, but its proprietary cost database, which is regarded as the industry standard in the Czech market. Combined with AI, it can automate cost estimates, detect budget deviations and improve planning.
For clients, this means an opportunity for faster product development and greater service integration. However, the risks include increasing market concentration, dependence on a single supplier and potential pressure on prices. MidEuropa has also announced plans for selective acquisitions, so the transaction may trigger further consolidation of the construction software market in Central Europe.
