On 22-24 June, Warsaw’s EXPO XXI will become the centre of a strategic technology dialogue between Central and Eastern Europe and Taiwan. The upcoming Taiwan Expo 2026 in Europe marks a clear shift in emphasis in Asian economic policy – the region is no longer seen merely as a market, becoming a key partner in the continent’s digital and green transformation. The choice of Poland to host the event reflects the country’s growing position as a logistics, manufacturing and technology hub in Europe.

For Taiwan, hitherto associated mainly with its dominance in the semiconductor sector, the Warsaw event is an opportunity to showcase a much broader portfolio. The main focus will be on solutions for artificial intelligence, the internet of things, smart manufacturing and modern digital infrastructure. In view of the EU’s efforts to shorten supply chains and increase technological independence, direct access to Taiwanese know-how represents an important market value for European companies.

One of the highlights of the programme will be the ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026’ initiative. This programme, focusing on smart healthcare and AI-based sports technologies, is expected to attract more than 800 projects from around the world. The best of these will get the chance for international deployment, signalling Taiwan’s ambition to take a leadership position in the global digital health sector.

In parallel, more than 20 selected companies will showcase award-winning industrial and consumer products in the Taiwan Excellence pavilion. The key element of the event, however, will not be the exhibition itself, but an extensive platform for B2B meetings and matchmaking sessions. This is where European startups, research institutions and investors will negotiate direct partnerships with Taiwan’s technology sector. From a market perspective, Taiwan Expo 2026 is an opportunity for regional business to become directly involved in global value chains. Admission to the event is free of charge, which encourages networking on an institutional and commercial level.
