In the case of modern technological investments such as data centres or infrastructure for artificial intelligence, it is not only the availability of power that is important, but also its quality, stability and the ability to predict power supply conditions in the long term. Projects of this type often require power capacities in the hundreds of megawatts and continuity of system operation, with the result that differences between locations have a direct impact on investment decisions.
The MocneStrefy.pl platform brings order to the process of assessing locations in this area, making available in one place data that previously required multi-stage analyses and contacts with various institutions. Users of the map can compare locations in terms of available connection capacity, power grid development plans – also in the perspective to 2032 – and parameters describing power supply stability. The tool enables the analysis of projects with a demand in excess of 250 MW, which corresponds to the scale of modern investments in the data centre and cloud infrastructure sector.

– Poland’s growing importance as a location for data centres and technology investments increases the need for predictable investment processes and efficient project implementation. The development of cloud services and AI-based solutions means that the digital infrastructure sector requires access to reliable and comparable data on the capabilities of the power system. We are keen for investors to be able to assess the potential of individual sites in a structured way already at the planning stage. The Strong Zones platform significantly speeds up this process and reduces the risk associated with investment preparation,” emphasises Robert Świerzyński, CEO of Energa-Operator S.A.
One of the key parameters available on the platform is the power supply reliability level (PPZ), which reflects the stability of the network and its resistance to disturbances. For data centre operators, for whom power supply continuity is critical, this is an important criterion for site selection. This is complemented by the Green Power Index, which allows the precise assessment of the share of energy from renewable sources and takes into account the requirements for implementing a sustainability strategy.
The new platform combines energy data with information on infrastructure and the economic environment. It takes into account, among other things, access to the transport network, the presence of academic facilities and the local labour market situation. This approach enables a comprehensive assessment of the location – particularly relevant for large technological investments that require both the right technical infrastructure and access to specialised human resources.
Another important element of the solution is the simplification of contact with the distribution system operator. Thanks to the investment request function, enquiries go directly to the relevant regional teams along with the basic technical parameters of the project. Energa-Operator declares a response within 48 hours, which significantly streamlines the initial stage of investment preparation and reduces the time needed to obtain key information
